Raviolo Clinic
Please check back soon for future dates.
Come to the farm to learn how to make traditional Italian ravioli. It does not matter how good or bad you are in the kitchen, I (Ale) will teach you how. They are fun, easy, delicious and there is nothing more rewarding than learning to do them yourself. Of course you could just as easily download a recipe online and do it... but traditional Italian recipes are passed on by doing. The real recipes ask you to add some of this and some of that, or till it looks or taste right (we even abbreviate this as q.b. in recipes "quanto basta" which means "just enough"). You can try translate the recipe but there is a reason why it has been carried verbally and "by doing" for so long... you got to see what the dough looks like to know when to stop adding flour, you got to see what the dough looks like when you roll it out of the little pasta machine when to know it is going to hold your filling ... you just got to see it ... at least once ... so you know how to reproduce it.
Making ravioli is also such a fun family project! If you want you can read my blog on ravioli here. I have lovely memories of making ravioli with my family (you can read my blog on ravioli if you are interested). We offer a $3 discount for people attending the Farm-2-Grill (which is an open BBQ and more with Italian food on the grill. You can purchase tickets on our online store ahead of time. Grill open 11am to 2pm.
The Raviolo Clinic costs $15 for one adult, $10 for each additional adults and $5 for any child under age 16. Tickets are paid at the door (please bring check or cash), but make a reservation via email ([email protected]) To make a reservation just send an email indicating you are interested in the Raviolo Clinic and how many adults and children are planning to attend.
See you in the Kitchen,
Ale
